Job Description:

As a member of the Corporate Development team, you will work collaboratively with senior Corporate Development staff and operational leadership to evaluate and execute acquisition opportunities to achieve the company’s growth objectives and to maximize the enterprise value of existing operations. You will assess and understand the industry landscape and harness it to provide management with the needed insight to drive intelligent and sound investment decision making.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assess new and existing markets for growth and M&A opportunities. Understand competitive landscape, geographic and demographic characteristics. Determine attractiveness of markets for additional growth.

  • Provide analytical support for acquisitions including but not limited to preparing market research, building financial models, leading the analysis on multiple diligence items, trend analysis and competitor/target assessments

  • Support drafting LOIs and other key deal materials. Assist in preparing and presenting analysis and findings to management and the operational leadership team

  • Other duties as assigned by senior Corporate Development staff

Education and/or Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Related Field.

  • 2-4 years experience in a related field, including: Investment Banking, Financial Due Diligence, FP&A, Accounting, Management Consulting

  • Progress towards relevant designation such as CPA, CBV, or CFA will be considered an asset

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Advanced Excel skills, particularly in financial and business modeling

  • Understanding of financial statements as well as finance and accounting concepts. Experience interpreting and communicating financial and business information.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think holistically, manage short and long term projects/milestones and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong work ethic, and collaborative working approach. Responsible and trustworthy, constantly delivers above
    and beyond

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work from the office ~4 days/week. Ability to travel up to ~30% of the time to Canada and within the US.
