Job Description:

The Permit & Licensing Specialist will maintain the compliance of 1,000s of permit, licensing and other miscellaneous filings required in order for shops to continue to operate on an annual basis.
PLEASE NOTE: This position will be on-site in our Elmhurst, IL location 2-3 days per week.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Complete all aspects of business license renewal including payment of business license. 
  • Accurately perform required calculations (calculations vary depending on locality) to determine correct cost to renew appropriate business license. Compare calculated amounts to prior amounts and investigate any large variances.
  • Maintain list of permit fees and other requirements for all municipalities Boyd operates in
  • Review and respond to all municipal permit and license inquiries via phone, mail and email
  • Conduct audits of shop permit logs to ensure proper permit tracking, documentation and closure and report findings and risk assessment to Tax Manager
  • Read and interpret permitting specifications, codes, ordinances and update the appropriate documents
  • Address issues as they arise, reach out to other internal departments to gather the required information and problem solve any issues that may arise
  • Ensure shops receive all licenses in a timely manner to post on-site
  • Renew company owned vehicle registrations
  • Communicate with field operations team to to capture any changes that might have an impact to current licenses and permits
  • Complete miscellaneous permitting and licensing renewal duties

Education and/or Experienced Required:
  • A Notary Status is Preferred
  • University or College degree in related field
  • 1-2 years office experience
  • Permitting and Licensing experience considered an asset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information in a clear, focused and concise manner
