Job Description:

The Manager of Capital Assets will be responsible for driving standardized processes across fixed, leased, and capital asset accounting in a complex and evolving environment.  They will help to meet the company’s financial reporting goals for timeliness and accuracy, plus contribute to the continuous process improvement environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Review and approve fixed asset and capital project accounting and monthly and quarterly reporting, including acquisitions, depreciation, impairment and disposals
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statement notes, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements
  • Manage the fixed asset register and review reconciliations between the G/L and sub-ledger
  • Provide guidance on capitalization policies
  • Drive standardized processes across fixed, leased and capital assets accounting
  • Manage and coordinate exception resolution with internal and external stakeholders
  • Design, implement and monitor processes and controls to address identified areas for improvement
  • Leads staff in the execution of their duties including hiring, training and development, performance coaching and creating an engaging environment
  • Liaise with external auditors during the quarterly review and annual audit process
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications)

  • A professional CPA designation and 7-10 years’ experience in the complete financial process including the knowledge of asset and lease accounting.  Workday or cloud-based experience preferred.  Prior management or supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word) in order to create all spreadsheets, formulas and linking; create own confidential correspondence
  • Passion to provide excellent customer service

Compensation Details:

80,500.00 - 99,300.00 - 129,100.00 CAD plus 10% bonus
