Job Description

Insurance
  • Collect loss incident information and evidence from operations personnel for vehicle thefts, vehicle collisions, natural disasters, general liability, cyber attacks, etc.
  • Advise operations and corporate personnel on how our insurance programs can reduce their risks of loss on a case-by-case basis
  • File insurance claims, respond to adjuster inquiries, track claims status through to closing
  • Report claims status to Manager, Treasury & Risk and other interested parties
  • Respond to attorney requests for information
  • Identify opportunities to reduce the risk of financial loss through loss prevention activities
  • Process insurance invoices for payment in a timely manner; advise GL account coding
  • Compile risk exposures for policy renewals
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting


Major Projects
  • Work with the Manager of Treasury & Risk to standardize our response to theft, weather, and work product related losses; issue standard guidance to the field
  • Implement an IT ticketing system to facilitate claim initiation, compilation of information, status tracking, and reporting of loss incidents and insurance claims
  • Standardize the renewal process for our various coverages


Treasury

Assist Treasury with:

Treasury Operations
  • Monitor daily cash positions
  • Perform wire transfers between accounts, debt draws and repayments, foreign exchange trades
  • Manage online banking portals; maintain and control user access
  • Liaise with banks for banking services administration


Cash Forecasting
  • Gather information to prepare weekly cash forecasts
  • Prepare daily cash plans from the weekly forecast, including commentary and action summary
  • Perform variance analysis for actuals vs. forecasts to refine the forecast and respond to changes in business conditions


Debt Management
  • Process bank debt draw, conversion, and repayment requests
  • Track debt positions and related interest expense by updating the Bank Debt Register

Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications)
  • Post-secondary education (preferably business administration, accounting, finance, or economics) or equivalent work experience
  • 1 - 3 years experience performing corporate administrative tasks, working within the terms of service contracts, interacting with financial services providers
  • Experience building and maintaining strong working relationships with operations
  • Preferred:
  • Insurance brokerage experience; Manitoba Public Insurance experience
  • Insurance claim administration experience
  • Experience in treasury operations and/or forecasting
  • Experience interacting with all levels of a business


Required Skills/Abilities

Preferred Knowledge and/or Experience
  • Knowledge of insurance-related risk management concepts would be an asset
  • Knowledge of auto body work and retail would be an asset
