Job Description:

The Boyd Group is looking for an  Infrastructure Platform Manager.  This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing staff and overall platform operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This leader will have technical and managerial oversight of our cloud environments, data centers, enterprise network, omni-channel contact center, telephone and voice services, third party integrations, remote access, network security infrastructure and related infrastructure technologies and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage the day to day execution of infrastructure platform projects and initiatives as well as level 3 support responsibilities
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge of current infrastructure technology trends and practices and appropriately infuse them into the team and our environment.
  • Design, manage, and develop the infrastructure platform team.  Outline the appropriate team structure, breakdown of roles and responsibilities,.  Attract and develop talent.  Drive accountability to high standards and manage performance.
  • Proficiently manage the infrastructure platform budget (> $20M)
  • Outline near term and 3 year plan / roadmap for infrastructure technologies (operating and capital)
  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management.
  • Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the executive team.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
  • Establish service level agreements with business units. 
  • Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts.
  • Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.
  • Drive  the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.
  • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Voice,  Internet, security, wireless implementations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
  • Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with SMEs and stakeholders.
  • Provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining cloud, server and network infrastructure.
  • Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base. Responsible for outlining infrastructure 5 year rolling capital plan.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.
  • Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.


WORK CONDITIONS

  • On-call availability for 7 days per month.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

  • Be a resolution path for team members to resolve blockers
  • Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help maintain excellent communication and relations with the business

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, communicating with all impacted parties and by troubleshooting and resolving issues with a sense of urgency to minimize any system downtime.

SAFETY

  • Ensure that all injuries are immediately documented and called in to Human Resources Department.  
  • Participate in on-going safety training.  
  • Ensure that work areas are kept clean and safe and that employees operate under safe working conditions.
  • Comply with any safety directives when working in production environments.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and administrate a team of network & voice, cloud, DevOps engineers, and conduct performance reviews and corrective action.
  • Manage disciplines suppliers 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, training certification and/or ability required.   • 8 years experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments.
  •  7 years successful leadership of an infrastructure team.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware.
  • Knowledge of current protocols, standards and platform, including TCP/IP,  BGP, Meraki, Google or Microsoft Suites
  • Familiar with programming languages such as python, javascript, ruby
  • Application support experience with Gitlab,  AWS, Azure
  • Experience in interpreting the applicability of local and federal laws/regulations to company operations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Four-year university degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 7-10 years equivalent work experience.

Compensation Details:

$160,000 - $180,000 / Year

Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.

 

Supplemental Pay: 

This position may also be eligible for Bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
